Experience the Culture at Its Best

Living with a family is about more than just learning Spanish, it’s about becoming part of their world. Enjoy traditional Guatemalan meals, learn about local customs, and experience the warmth and hospitality of the people.

Our host families are carefully selected from the middle class, according to Guatemalan standards, and they offer a welcoming environment to help you immerse yourself fully in the culture.

Families do their best to accommodate dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian or low-fat meals), but typically serve traditional Guatemalan cuisine, which is a wonderful part of the immersion experience.

While host families strive to provide a pleasant stay, it’s important to note that their homes may not offer the same amenities as a hotel, such as luxury mattresses or other high-end comforts.

However, they ensure a friendly, clean, and culturally enriching environment.

If, for any reason, you don’t feel fully comfortable with your assigned family, our Host Family Coordinator will work with you to find a better fit.
